Job Description
Pardus Trainers provide training to customers on multiple topics within the acquisition and project management lifecycles. The Pardus training team offers ten instructor-led courses; over twenty Just-in-Time (JIT) training classes; and five Web-based Training (WBT) courses. These formal offerings are supplemented with recurring webinars, Streamlined Timely Acquisition Topics (STATs) and customized team training. Each Trainer is responsible for familiarity with all topics; in addition to becoming proficient in a subset of each course so that they are able to comfortably provide instruction. Pardus uses a training team structure where all topics are assigned a primary instructor along with backup instructors. This team composition allows the opportunity for professional growth as well as the ability to balance competing job priorities and a work-life balance. Instructor-led courses are concurrently offered in a classroom environment and virtual environment. Trainers must be able to dynamically adjust to multiple learning environments, student composition, and ad hoc questions/requests for information.
Trainers daily work activities may include any of the following:
• Develop course material to include presentation charts, sample scenarios, classroom exercises, and knowledge checks
• Work with instructional designers to develop web-based curriculum
• Deliver Just-in-Time training to project teams
• Develop and deliver webinar content that will be recorded and made available to the acquisition workforce
• Provide in-person training in a classroom setting. This includes presenting course material, providing real-world examples, and leading group exercises
• Provide the overall management of courses to include determining schedules, coordinating instructors and guest speakers; and providing course follow-up information
• Respond to ad hoc questions during and following instruction
• Track and report training metrics
• Collaborate with interfacing activities and offices to ensure curriculum is kept current and relevant to the workforce
Requirements
Required skills for the Trainer position are as follows:
• Experience with Government contracting and acquisition processes. Topics may include:
o Request for Proposal (RFP) development
o Proposal Development
o Proposal Evaluation
o Contract Management
o Project Management
o Earned Value Management
o Space System Acquisition
o Financial Management and the Congressional budgeting process
• Excellent and engaging presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle ad hoc questions or discussions
• Ability to quickly adapt to role and make contributions immediately. Expect to be teaching at least one topic within 30 days of employment.
• Knowledge of competitive and sole source acquisition processes
• Ability to be an independent contributor yet work well on a team
• Candidate must possess a security clearance at the TS/SCI level with a CI polygraph
Desired skills include the following:
• Knowledge of IC acquisition processes and constraints
• Knowledge of the NRO Acquisition Manual (NAM) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
• Prior contract management or program management experience
